I'm Alison, a South African teacher who moved to the UK in 2023 with my husband Gary, our daughter, and four cats. After years of teaching and exploring South Africa from our home in Durban, we decided it was time to chase bigger dreams.
While our son continues his apprenticeship in South Africa, we're writing our next chapter here in England. Faith and family guide our decisions, and this move has opened doors I've long dreamed of - particularly in travel and writing. I'm currently working on my first novel, inspired by our family's experiences during COVID in South Africa.
I have a deep passion for wildlife and the natural world - from African savannas to English woodlands - and find peace in the beauty that surrounds us. History fascinates me - discovering stories of where we come from and how our paths connect. You'll often find me in hidden coffee shops, sharing stories with family, fellow travellers and dreamers over a perfect cappuccino. Above all, my faith grounds me - I'm grateful to the God who makes all these adventures possible.
Through Parsons Pursuits, I share travel stories and life experiences from both sides of the Equator. My hope is simple: to show others that it's never too late to begin something new.
